  Future Roots workshop

My introduction to Yurt making was through a group called Future Roots who look after a piece of Ash woodland, planted to replace trees blown down during the storm of '87. This woodland had become somewhat overgrown and as part of the thinning process being implemented to encourage a natural, healthy re-growth we are left with a large number of cut poles that are perfect for making our beautiful and unique Yurts.

Future Roots itself is part of a greater co-operative of organic growers and artisans, called Stanmer Organics, who work out of a 17 acre plot providing Brighton with fresh organic vegetables and herbs as well as educational opportunities and, hopefully, inspiration that it is possible to increase the quality of a product whilst minimising the negative impact you have on the land about you.

Inherent within every aspect of what we do at both Future Roots and Yurtopia is a feeling that you don't have to compromise the pleasure you take in your work and workplace and that infact this lack of compromise that serves to bring more in the sense of design, atmosphere and service to our business. In setting Yurtopia up I have brought together the best, most positive people and finest quality product I can to ensure that our clients are served as well as possible. As such the service and the Yurts we provide go a long way towards making whatever event they are at all the more unique and special for their being there.
